Maurepas swamp wma
51 degrees, 5mph NE wind and clear skies
Mankung xbow, 100 gr schwacker tipped 22” bolt

Watching an old white oak tree nestled in a pine thicket at edge of cypress swamp. Found this spot while chasing squirrels a couple weeks back. We’ll see and good luck to all out this morning.

Okay... I got to ask.
How do people walk throught the mud out there? Ive almost had hip boots sucked off in areas with no standing water.

The mudder boots that open up and spread your weight around? Waders and be miserable?

Lol, waders and misery if you hunt the actual swamp. I hunt the 1100 acre tract off King George Road in French Settlement. It has hardwoods, pine thickets and swamps. The hardwoods are getting easier to navigate since all the blowdowns from Ida are rotten.

Can verify.

Knocked down a woodie one am. Got the bow of the boat as close as possible, still couldn't reach him. Took ONE step out of boat and hit the yellow line on my hip boots. Next step, nutz got wet.
