That he was preserving his redshirt. Why didn't he just come out and say he didn't make the starting lineup so he is going to the portal.

This is one of those deals where the coach can't win with some fans.
If Kelly says Stamps is leaving because LSU has better players, you people would gripe about that too.

Of all the things to complain about (and there are many), this isn’t one.
If anything, Stamps is probably dumb for giving up all the available resources for the next month.

So you see no issue with a coach giving contradictory statements on two days.
It's a pattern, the guy can never tell things straight. Nuss's injury, the offensive performance, OL issues.

What's contradictory? Guy can't crack the rotation so you preserve his year of eligibility. Don't want to shite on him publicly so you leave out the can't crack the rotation part.

The real story here is that he was never that good to begin with. He only played due to the numerous deficiencies we had on defense. Good luck to him.

If anything BK did the guy a favor by saving his redshirt and not announcing that he was quitting over playing time or being on a bad team.
