I am sick of the rebuild talk for next years football team.

We are in a new era now. Teams can lose tons of good players and be good the next year bc of the portal and obviously good coaching which we currently have felt don't have especially on offense. For example, look at Ole Miss last year and every one knew that was their year to make a playoff run with a top portal class and a great overall team loaded with pros. This was supposed to be a "rebuilding year" for them and so still see a very good team with very little dropoff. I am trying to be positive even though I have zero faith in CBK to turn it around but to say rebuild means to me that we are expected to be worse and I just can't buy into that logic. Every team replaces good players.

Agreed. This 2-3 year rebuild shite at a place like LSU is out the window.
If you can’t recruit to a point that the next guy up is ready to go, then you gotta make it happen in the portal. Period.
But I have no faith in this staff to get that done.
Hell, even when they go get the right pieces they don’t know what to do with them.

Who is talking about a rebuild? Last year was the deadline.. this year was supposed to be no questions asked.

They lose almost everyone on defense, and a few on offense including the qb.

I do find it funny that we are just following Ole Miss. At first everyone on this board thought Ole Miss was dumb for using the transfer portal as much as they did, and we were doing it the right way by building through high school recruiting. That didn’t work, so then we took their GM and followed their blueprint of going all in on the transfer portal. Now this offseason we are going to try to replicate what they did last offseason.

Next year will be worse. LSU is losing a ton of players on both sides of the ball.

Portal is for a few missing pieces. You aren’t getting a championship caliber team through one portal class.

Ole Miss has half the money invested in their roster than last year and they are still good. Having the most money to get portal guys helps and we will always have the talent imo. Coaching and scheme and development is the main culprit.

Ole Miss has something we don’t have, a Head Coach that knows what he’s doing named Lane Kiffin that coaches circles around around Les Miles 2.0, but when Les is as better than this clown.

Look at Ole Miss's schedule this year and then look at ours for 2026. I'll wait to see how things pan out in the offseason, but next year could be brutal.
