Or are our players just low IQ? Or both?

As a Coach, it’s their job to adapt to your players

Plain and Simple

No. I think execution and play calling is the problem.

On offense? Hell no. It’s all in (lack of) coaching and execution.

The coordinator and position coaches on offense are fricking awful. The result? Poor technique, confusion and predictable play calling.

BK has to take the responsibility for the current state of the offense. He made a terrible choice in naming Joe Sloan as the OC. He made a terrible choice in keeping Brad Davis as the OL coach.
As far as defense is concerned, I think Baker has greatly improved the defense while still lacking elite talent. Pyburn, Payton, and Butler are better than average players, but they are not difference makers. Gooden has been a good player for us, but he is not a great player. Delane is elite. Cooley has been OK but lacks size. I do not think that the scheme is that complicated, and yes one of our "star players" seems to not know what he is doing at times.

The running backs and wide receivers are also underachieving. The entire offensive staff must be purged, even the alleged irreplaceable recruiter(s).

LSU has low FB IQ players, and it’s part of a coaches job to recruit the right players. These guys continue to make the same mistakes week after week.I don’t believe the coaches don’t point out these mistakes every week and go over them in practice, the coaches aren’t that incompetent. Some of these players just can’t learn it goes over their heads. Its a huge difference coaching ND players than LSUs.

These aren't "ND coaches" handling these players. The offensive position coaches are all southern based and experienced. It isn't Kelly working with these players every day. It's his assistants. The players aren't incapable of learning; their teachers just suck, especially the o-line coach.

But does the difficulty lead to lack of execution?

Our scheme sucks. It's a boring, predictable and unsuccessful offense.
