Vanderbilt Stadium Operations

I’ve been to a lot of sporting events, and a number of opposing SEC stadiums, and yesterday was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. Obviously this stadium isn’t used to handling a sell out, but you would think the “smartest school in the SEC” would have better gameday logistics.
They have what seemed like 3? entrance gates, all at one end of the stadium. We then had to walk from the south side all the way to our section at the northernmost point of the stadium. This took over 20 minutes (because of below) and we missed opening kick. When you emerge into the stadium from the ramp, there is one small singular staircase for the 50ish rows above creating an unbelievable traffic jam.
The concourse walkways are so small, the lines for the bathrooms and concessions block normal walking access to try to go anywhere. Again, 20 minutes of pushing through mass of humanity
Not to mention the terrible piped in music that drowned out our band despite us being in the same section with them just a few seats over.
Their stadium looks better with the renovations, but operates much worse. The 2019 game was much better not only in terms of outcome of the game.
Long story short, we just got handled by a program that has no idea what they’re doing with actual fans.

Yeah exiting that stadium was awful. Never seen anything like that. I joked with my buddy as we were leaving….. the Coliseum in Rome had it figured out better than this.

That place sucks. Was there yesterday. Forget going to bathroom or getting a beer. You will miss half the game.

Wife had a small purse with 3 items in it …albeit 3 inches too wide for their little chart ..almost missed kick …didn’t realize some places still obsessed with this

This is impossible. The rant told me that Tiger Stadium is the worst place on earth.

The piped in sound with speakers aimed at the band. You couldn’t hear either band. The decibel level was way too high. It’s a shitty game day experience. I had foam ear plugs from the night before and put them in for the whole game.

To be fair, they’ll go back to being Vanderbilt soon and all those issues will fix themselves.

Vandy isn’t SEC level, stadium or program wise
Neither is Missouri

Mizzou is finishing up a $250m renovation and will have more seating capacity than Ole Miss.

Men’s restroom on visiting side had standing water in them.

Cultural fit aside, I’ll give em that they’re trying to catch up

The Coliseum had it figured out better than any stadium today. I think they say the entire Coliseum can empty in 10 minutes or something like that.

That is true. The Roman Colosseum held 50,000 and the masses could enter and exit rapidly. In addition, there underground rooms and tunnels for prisoners, gladiators, animals, and supplies. The sandy floor (called "arena") soaked up the blood, and could be flooded to hold naval "war games." We think we're so smart today. We copied Rome. Even the LSU campus is copied off Roman architecture, not Spanish like some believe.

Went there in 19. It was like a try hard high school game. Giant boom box type speakers and crappy mumble rap.
