Posted 10 days ago and discusses the history and challenges of the building while also showing footage of the current conditions inside the building.

Yet another failure of the incompetence and corruption of the politicians that are destroying the city.

How does the documentary arrive at this being the city's fault? The shitty developer has/had a history of owning property he let fall into disrepair while waiting for government handouts to fund them.

It doesn’t, that’s my opinion.

We’re just lucky it hasn’t partially collapsed with a corpse half hanging out like the Hard Rock.

Because a city government has no involvement when pieces of an abandoner building fall onto the street below.

Throw up some nets that are gonna get torn up by the debris and wrap it in signs when the SuperBowl comes to town.

Teedy calls that PROBLEM SOLVED

Besides the fines, court rulings, and approval for demolition the council has done nothing....

The city doesn't have the $30MM to tear it down and shouldn't foot the bill.

One of its most "famous" tenants was Morris Bart.

Remember when government fricked over the tower by claiming a bunch of bullshite mold that wasn’t there because they wanted to move to the nice new buildings on Poydras?

If I were rich enough I'd buy it and refurbish it as a hotel, rename name it the Gen. R.E. Lee and put a huge statue of Lee on top.

Such an ugly building
—not when it was built, at the peak of the offshore oil platform era.

I'm not sure if it's the city or the media, but someone keeps perpetuating this $20-$30 million figure as the cost to demolish the plaza tower. That number is wildly low. You could literally add a zero to get the real number. It cannot be dynamited due to proximity of other buildings close to it, and the asbestos contained within the building. It would have to be torn down with cranes and largely by hand. A good comparable would be 270 Park Avenue in New York. It was torn down in 2019 and cost $160 million for that. I think everyone can guess how much more expensive construction is now than in 2019.
