Since Atlanta is likely not getting a new team for a long time I've been looking to get back into it.

Avalanche rarely play a boring game regardless of outcome
You could get on the upcoming younger teams like Utah or Montreal. Minnesota has great fan support but can’t break through. Anaheim and San Jose should be good soon.
Just don’t pick Dallas Tampa Florida or Vegas they have enough bandwagon fans.

Preds definitely the most local but I do have a soft spot for the Ducks considering I watched that animated show as a kid

You're not going to have to wait as long as you think you are. Atlanta will have a team by 2030 IMO.
But in the interim, I'd pull for Nashville.
