People pooped on their schedule last year. Maybe so but they rolled through most of the teams they played. Lost to the two teams that made the championship game.
This year, absolutely destroyed the 9th ranked team. Maybe Illinois is overrated. And beat Oregon and currently ranked 3.

You probably did. Probably did a lot along with the other SEC pietists.

Currently +900 to win it all
I don’t know enough about them or Oregon, but that was an impressive win

Ohio State is the only team in the Big Ten who can play with and win against top tier teams. Indiana is not a top tier team. It hurts me to say this, but I have eyes and a brain so I’m not wrong.
BTW. Penn State has been a poser under Franklin. As everyone including sports experts on tv and radio and podcasts predicted PSU to dominate this year, I knew better than them. Franklin should have been fired 7 years ago.

They were good last year. Played a weak schedule, but dominated the teams they played in regular season except tOSU.

They held Oregon to around 60-65 yards in the second half, gave them a pick six, and still won by ten.

A quarterback like Mendoza will give a team with maybe less-than-top-tier talent a chance in almost any game. That's the difference between last year's team (whom I think in retrospect was a legitimate top ten team, though towards the back end of the top ten) and this year's team.

Yeah, that game t wasn't really that close.
Indiana, to use SEC Rant vernacular, beat them up.
Even the National Champs didn't beat up Oregon last year in Autzen. They lost as most do...Indiana broke Oregon's 18 home win streak and gave the Ducks their first loss in the Big10 since joining the Conference.

No matter what they are legit. Are they top 5 good nor sure but no one can argued they are a playoff quality team

People to stop saying Indiana doesnt have talent. Hear it alot of this board and it's only because of their name...this is the NIL and Indiana has some absolute dogs on that squad.

For as much as people "abhor" the eye test, it still gets thrown in the discussion.

Iowa had them beat and literally choked the game away. I felt like Iowa outplayed them for most of the game.

Many great teams have gone on the road to Iowa and shite the bed. For some reason that is a tough place to play.

Indiana beat Oregon because of two things:
1. They have the better more experienced QB who played as such.
2. They played disciplined football, took every positive play they could and didn’t press themselves for more than they could get while Oregon tried to play hero ball against a team that doesn’t get fooled by tomfoolery.
Indiana isn’t a top 10 team in terms of talent, however, their results on the field so far this season speak for themselves. Last year was a bit of fool’s gold though. They played 2 teams that were above .500 in the regular season and went 1-1. They lost the third game they played against an above .500 team.

Iowa had them beat and if not for Gronowski getting hurt and knocked out of the game in the 4th quarter would have won the game.

Take IU off the helmet and slap a G or a Steer on it and Indiana would be splitting, if not getting more, 1st place votes with Ohio State after man handling Oregon.
That's just reality, despite the new CFB landscape that has killed the old, people are still hanging on to old ideas, beliefs and blue blood prejudices... Its over...time to get over seeing football programs with old eyes in a CFB world that's changed. Voters and fans have fallen prey to old notions, ergo the topic of this thread...
Can you imagine, Alabama with Indiana's current CV, embarrassing Illinois by 70 points and walking into Autzen and pushing around #3 in the Country...
And someone starts a thread....Is Alabama legit?
They'd be laughed all the way to OT exile.
