It doesn’t matter how good Vandy is. Lose this game and BK permanently loses the fan base

He can’t walk back his “see you in the national championship” comment.
If Vandy had beaten Alabama this wouldn’t be the case.
He will get the PSU Franklin treatment. LSU football will be looking for the football version of Jay Johnson.
And don’t talk about money. That new oil company patch on the LSU jerseys means money won’t be an issue.

Kelly has his issues. But losing to Ole Miss and Vandy is not the same as losing to UCLA and Northwestern as 20+ point favorites.

He’s not getting fired this season unless the wheels completely come off. Certainly a Vandy loss and a record worse than 9-3 will put him on the hot seat, but he won’t permanently lose the fan base if LSU makes the playoffs next year. He’ll probably need at least 2 playoff runs in the next 3 seasons or an NC, but there are ways to turn things around.

This is actually a reasonable take.
However, if we lose to Vandy, then I believe we also lose to A&M, Bama and Oklahoma (all objectively better than Vandy).
That makes you 7-5. How is that not a disaster?

4 boosters wrote Franklin checks that totaled about 40 million, he wanted the money in lump sum and they wanted to be completely done with him.
No LSU boosters are doing that AND buying and retaining players.
