Wife and I enjoyed first 3 episodes, really well done and Jason Clarke is spot on as fat Fer Murdaugh.

We watched the first 2 episodes last night. I’ve never watched anything about them previously. The entire family were some entitled, spoiled shitty arse people.

I'd watch the Netflix documentary on it. The real story is much better.

Do you think it is fair to judge an entire family based on a dramatic made for profit television show? I watched one of the documentaries and found a few instances of stretching the truth or at least taking liberties with it.

I watched all 3 episodes so far and thought it was well done. For people that are not from South Carolina and/or didn’t follow the boat case, murder trial, etc…don’t understand how much power and pull this family had in the Lowcountry.

Yes

You are a gullible person if you think these documentaries and ripped from the headlines television movies don't stretch the truth.

Yes. We watched the trial, the doc and first 3 of the show and the show is so well done and acted that it feels almost new to me.

Of course its dramatized but Jason Clarke and Patricia Arquette did a great job so far in playing the two main characters. You also see interaction between the lawyer Murdaugh sons and the father in charge of the firm.

My thoughts as well. Not only does he look just like Alec, but he also plays the southern charlatan oxy-addicted ambulance chaser perfectly.

I watched the whole trial and I still don't believe he killed his family. Defraud people and steal a shite ton of money? Yes. Kill his wife and son? No.

.

How do you explain Alex’s voice being heard on the dog video sent from Paul’s phone just before the shooting? (I’m not trying to bust your chops. I’m honestly curious.)

If I recall, during the trial, I kind of glossed over that as something that just happens in the course of daily life. Just an every day minor interaction talking about something pretty mundane. Often, if something traumatic happens other less important memories are pushed out. I thought there was enough mishandling of evidence by SLED (and witness tampering) to at least justify a mistrial because there was a lot of poison fruit in evidence.

I also just looked at the fact that he was never getting out of prison because of the fraud charges. He was going to spend his life behind bars but was fighting tooth and nail not to convicted of the crime of murdering his wife and son.

I just felt the evidence seemed to lean more towards someone (probably two people) hired to take him out because he burned a lot of people rich and poor over the course of his life.

I don't know. It was an interesting trial to watch when Lawtube was still fun.

It was one of those things that happen in the course of daily life.

Unfortunately for Alex, it happened during a time span in which he said he wasn’t present at the kennels. His voice in the video shows that he was there during that time. Paul’s phone never sent another message after the video was taken, and the orientation showed the phone itself didn’t move afterward (other than Alex pulling it from under Paul’s body and placing it on his back) because Paul was dead.

When a guy is a thief and a pillhead, he’ll do stupid stuff that makes no sense.

That you Buster? Did they stretch the truth about you getting kicked out of USC Law?

17m in and I can tell it’s legit. Casting is perfect.

I don’t know how this plays for someone that didn’t follow this story closely the whole time, but I did and this is freakin A+.
