The whole place smells like weed now. And the entire northern part of the campus, especially along Highland Road from the student union to the north gates of campus and beyond, is no longer reflective of SEC tailgating.

These aren’t students, they aren’t alumni and they’re not even fans.

It’s the criminal element blowing in from the slum north of campus and using the tailgating revelry as a cover for their own activities.

This isn’t about race, though it involves race. Race is the reason nobody has done anything about the fact that the trashiest elements of society in the state capitol are now invading the campus of the flagship university.

Interestingly enough, Southern University four miles to the north has begun policing their own on-campus experience to squeeze the bad element away, and now it’s finding a home at LSU.

People have been complaining about this for YEARS, and nothing has been done. It’s gotten worse now.

Now there’s a shooting practically every week, and a very large number of longtime LSU season ticket holders are openly saying this is going to be their last year. They’ve had it with what’s happened to the LSU campus.

My best friend is a huge LSU fan and family donates big money and she doesn’t want to go to games anymore.

This is what happens when you put an SEC school in what is essentially Jackson, Mississippi.

Yeah, Baton Rouge was full of ghetto culture when LSU moved to the city in 1869.

The one and only thing that motivates these people is the loss of revenue. Make them feel it. It will change. Do nothing, and it gets worse.

Yes something needs to be done about the criminal element north of campus and buying up property through eminent domain is an interesting idea.

How politically connected are those property owners?

Where dies the buyout money come from?

However, ranting about twerking takes away from the good ideas of the rest of the column.

Further, Miss st is not using test scores either, and there are not having the problems LSU has. And there’s a lot of diversity on that campus, too.

LSU already has a leader. His name is James- He is on tv every day wearing LSU Alumni shirt. LSU must be so proud of their dear leader

Meanwhile all the other SEC schools are poaching Louisiana's best students through better scholarship.

Blacks profiling and running off other blacks isn't going to even get a peep from social or legacy media, that's just them "handling their family business"

LSU/White people turning away the poor downtrodden black population of NBR will be a fricking media circus that nobody wants to touch with a 1000 foot pole

The whole thing went to shite when all that section 8 housing was converted behind Fred’s

It’s only gotten worse.

The Governor needs to stop focusing on Temu Tigers and commit to securing the area within radius of campus. It’s an embarrassment and an absolute safety hazard.

And FTR Hayride- the Trash you’re complaining about at the North Gates would be the exact reason you need to be carrying a gun to and fro your tailgate

LSU administration.

They aren't going to do anything about it. They would rather ruin the gameday experience than to get even the smallest amount of bad press. The only hope is that Steve Scalise or Mike Johnson decide to throw their weight around, but they have security and govt vehicles. They can be the last ones to campus and the first ones out if they want to.
