Hades II - No Spoilers

Finally bought this a couple days ago after digging out my switch pro controller.
Took a couple hours to get into it and figure out the changes and find a weapon I liked. At first it seemed like a totally different game that they wanted you to play differently than Hades 1, but after playing it for a while and leveling some items up, it plays very similar to the first.
It’s great, I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Not gonna spoil anything but the changes they have made and the new twist they added greatly improved the game and the pacing.
Anyone else playing?

I hit 49/49 achievements on hades I but can’t commit to this one yet. Burnt out I suppose.

I can understand burnout for sure. I think they did some good things in this one to shake it up and help prevent that.
So far the story hasn’t been as captivating tho

I hate the stupid magic crap they force upon you. I think the first was much better, it's a roguelike, i should be able to play a variety of different ways.

I’m with you on this, especially for the first few hours. It does good damage but more importantly it can help you somewhat control the battlefield.
My pro controller has a couple buttons on the back I can use to drop mine without having to take my finger off the main attack button. It’s super helpful when I remember to use it.

The magic stuff is just charged versions of what you already had with a resource. That kind of stuff adds to build variety.

I think it was the transition from playing on a fully unlocked hades 1 save file to playing on a stock hades 2 save file that made the first few runs feel slow and clanky.
Since I got it all figured out I’ve been loving it. The way builds come together is great, don’t think I’ve had a single run yet where I felt like my build was unusable.

Finally got to second phase of chronos, his scythe throw whacked me every damn time.

Yeh that attack does serious damage, have had a couple runs grind to a halt in the same place. And since he’s the Titan of Time, boons or upgrades that slow enemies or their projectiles down don’t work against him.

Back to backed chronos this morning. The second half of phase 2 is just bulletstorm madness.

I made it to the credits last night. Hell of a game, still tons of stuff I haven’t done.

Finally gave this one about an hour, Saturday night.
Really enjoying it, but I loved the first one, too.
Not too sure about some of the gameplay mechanics. There's usually too much going on for me to remember to press & hold the Y button for the stronger attack.
I'm also not certain what the purpose of the "binding circle" on the X button.
What am I missing?

I took like 10 runs to warm up to the mechanics of everything, but really enjoyed it once i got used to it. Some say its better than the first, but idk. It is very good though and there is more to do than the first game
As far as the omega attacks, i never really used them tbh. I mainly would use one at the very start of an encounter because theres an arcana card that gives you bonus damage for having less than 100% magic
the binding circle is very useful. It keeps enemies from moving. They can use their attacks, but can be used to keep enemies still and at a distance. Once you get a boon for the circle, you can apply status effects and do damage with it, which becomes quite handy

At the moment, Hectate is whooping my arse on the regular.

Bumping this thread, ya'll check out Sworn yet? It's a straight up copy of Hades but if you have an itch, it will scratch it.
Starts off very slow till you upgrade your movement speed, but i'm having fun with it. 17 bucks on ps5, well worth it.

Sworn is fun, definitely a rip off of Hades but being able to play online co-op adds a lot. Some of the different characters have some good build opportunities.
If you like Sworn, TMNT: Splintered Fate is another hades style game with online co-op that is fun. Has a good storyline and good voice acting also.
Ravenswatch is another game in this genre I’ve thought about getting. Seems to be more focused on magic spells and ranged attacks. Looks good tho and got solid reviews.

You'll be laughing at her in no time.
I haven't been able to beat the 2nd phase of Chronos. I switched it up and I am now focusing on going "upstairs" to see where that takes me.
Game is awesome. Love the interactions with the gods. I'm sure it helps that I am currently re-reading Iliad/Odyssey for the upcoming Nolan movie.
It is so satisfying when your build comes together. The music is awesome as well.
