Sports injuries…thoughts?

Positions are more specialized. Guys play less than they ever have per play. Exercise and nutrition is better than it’s ever been, yet players get injured every year. Rarely does a player make it through any season without missing games.
A decade ago, guys were playing twice as much and never missing time. It was very rare for any notable athlete to be hurt.
Are drugs/pharna to blame? Local doctors/drug dealers prescribing bs which kills the body? Travel ball wearing the body out before it’s peaked? It’s baffling my mind why a RB can’t get more than 10 ‘touches’.
Derrick Henry is an anomaly (although he’s aging now), but on record for never listening to a doctor.

Athletes are so explosive now that their bodies can’t keep up.

Athletes are spoiled compared to 20 years ago

Have you thought about not starting a new, shitty thread and logging off for awhile? It’s mesmerizing how bad of a poster you are.

Guys are working muscles they never knew they had. Some players are stronger than their frames can stand.
However, I believe pitchers are babied way too much

All the supplements, creatine, steroids, growth hormones all that
human bodies are being pushed beyond what they can naturally achieve

More games and higher intensity.
Modern medicine can only do so much to keep athletes healthy.
Load management is a problem across multiple sports.

I believe athletes are working out too much and not having any down periods. Their muscles/tendons/ligaments are strained to the max.

The amount of force and strength is at a much higher rate these days. These guys are massive.. I do think that players don’t push through as much but it’s more understandable in today’s world.. the known long term risks and debilitating injuries that can occur have its rightful place in decisions.
