Play calling is terrible

Who calls a QB sneak with a QB with a bad ankle and can’t push off his foot

Not putting Van Burien in for a few plays is criminally insane.

I mean I’m no Sloan apologist, but if Nuss doesn’t throw 3 or 4 awful passes, Hilton doesn’t drop an easy 40 yard pass, and Johnson doesn’t fumble of the 1 then we probably score 40. I though overall the play calling was markedly better this week.

And a go route to Chris Hilton who can’t catch a cold

This. Also we wouldn’t have had that ridiculous interception if Hilton comes down with that pass. That play screwed us so much.
Bright side, Nuss made 2 plays with his legs. Bet they were stunned shitless both times.

2 weeks of prep to only score 20! at home! against south cackalackey.

Play calling wasn’t perfect, but we could have easily had another 10-17 points in this game. That’s on the players. I actually like what I saw from Sloan in this game for the most part. He spent the bye week putting some new stuff together for TreDez, and they focused far more on the running game.

The scripted stuff is truly awful, and should probably be delegated to somebody other than whoever is doing it currently, but we had 5 60+ yard drives. Moved the ball consistently and in chunks, ran the ball well for the most part, and were balanced.
Feels like a good week to cut Sloan some slack.

You call that when it’s a 50/50 chance your bi polar QB will thro a pick.

The play-calling in the red zone that he mentioned wasn’t good, though. I understand Nuss had a couple of good QB sneaks earlier in the season, but he had no push there and was easily stopped. That was a wasted down.
Not bringing Green back in and going to him on 3rd down was another mistake. He was our best player on offense last night and he got us to the goal line on that drive. That should have been the move in that spot. Sadly, they probably didn’t trust Nuss after the earlier pick at the goal line.
I do agree with you that execution was the bigger issue overall with the offense last night.

Normally we make that play over Moore's blocking.

I feel the same, but I believe they promised this kid a redshirt unless Nuss is injured. That is why he doesn’t come in and run a goal line/short yardage package. Johnson is/was a qb, they should run goal line plays with him at qb.

Every week we say the same shite like this over and over and over. There is no “if this” or “if coaches.” We are who we are at 6 games into the season. No more ifs. What we looked like out of the bye week is likely the best you will see us play.
Everything you saw last night is who we are and will be throughout the remaining schedule. The inefficiencies across certain positions (OL/QB) will continue as seen. Ups & downs will continue. The inconsistency will be consistent: interceptions, fumbles, sacks, stuffed runs, head scratching play calling, and BK losing it on the sideline on every coach with a headset.
We have the teeth of our schedule left to go and all their offense’s are starting to really roll (N/A OU) and the defense’s are only getting better from here on out (N/A Ark & WK). The man holding the 8&4 gun has it firmly pressed against our temple.
Vandy - Better offense/good D
aTm - Best Dual Threat QB/Good pressure D
Bama - Best QB/Bama D
Ark - Hot Offense/Poor D
WKU - Trap Game
OU - Ok Offense/Good D
There is a real chance we have 3 losses heading into WKU. It is very likely we have 2 back to back losses before Ark. I hope we can pull out some miracle or some player at either OL/QB/RB/WR comes off the bench playing out of this world to change our trajectory. Just don’t have faith we can do anything with what we are fielding currently.

Lost all credibility. This board insanely overrates every single team in the SEC.
Theres a better chance we finish 10-2 or 11-1 than 8-4.
