I’d stray outside Avalon, it’s mostly national chains. Try Kimchi Red. Korean fried chicken and fried rice.

Around 30 minutes from Alpharetta is Woodstock, you can get to some of the best restaurants. Depending on what you are looking for.

Steaks, Seafood and Drinks, Prime 120. The Shrimp Cocktail for starters.

Reel has a great mixture of foods,Seafood, Gumbo, Bisque. They too are some of the best. Start with the dip. Or BBQ Shrimp.

Ipps, Italian Restaurant. Grandpa’s Meatballs to start, they bring Garlic Bread for starters.

Centry House, start with the Pork Belly and Grits.

I haven't tried it but Superica has a location there. Tex Mex - chef/owner is Ford Fry whose Tex Mex cookbook is excellent.

that's probably true but Rumi's is in Avalon which he asked about.

How is Oak? I ate there many years ago after it first opened but don't remember. Will be eating at the one in Highlands in a few weeks.

Just a little south of Alpharetta I recently ate at Mezza Luna Pasta and Seafood. It was so good I went back two more times. It’s a small neighborhood dive restaurant but the inside is real nice. The kitchen staff and some of the wait staff sound like they just moved to the United States. That place was delicious. Roswell and Woodstock have some good places to eat but I’d have to look through Trip Advisor to remember where I went. Seems like Alpharetta had a bunch of chain restaurants when I’ve stayed there. Generally I book my hotels in Marietta strictly because I like the restaurants around that area.

We had a table of 6 today at Rumi’s, some of the best food. Everything was very good. Kabobs were great. Great job with the different rice dishes.

Rumi's is great. And the OG.

Delbar is well done, trendier and highly similar for obvious reasons.

I don't think you need to leave Alpharetta for the culinary delights of Woodstock
