It was hit on highway 84 close to the Social Hill exit on I-30. I’m sure a lot of you have no clue where that’s at, so here’s a map and the red spot is where it was hit. Measured from nose to tail at 86 inches and they think it weighed 160lbs. Arkansas Game and Fish have it so I’m sure they will release more information.
Here’s a link to story about it

I know we always joke about seeing them, but I didn’t realize they were native to Arkansas

They are not native to Arkansas. According to the game and fish, they do not know of any breeding population going on here. They say that all the sightings have been males and have traveled from other states.

Bears attacks, cougars.
Rural Arkansas is getting as dangerous as North Little Rock.

Oh I agree. All my family lives down around amity. Our lease is only 10 min or so away.
My cousin had a picture of one from a camera behind their house. Game and fish came out and said it was a male just traveling through.

I’ve got a coworker who lives near there and he’s got pics of one the past two years. Game and fish also told him it was just passing through

Yup it’s well known that there’s been a lot of sightings in Amity. That’s all I need to see opening morning of alternative firearm next weekend, is a damn cat just “traveling” through.

Stop in at hill top liquor sometime and check out the monster white tail the owner killed last year. He’s got several other mounts in there too

I’ve seen it. I’m in there way too much lol.

A sheriff’s deputy hit and killed one in Longview, (east) Texas a year or so ago. Pics made the news.

Same, Pike county needs to go ahead and just legalize liquor sales

Got one in Hamburg a few years back. Tried to charge the guy with killing a protected species. He then claimed it charge him and was self defense. I wonder how many have been killed and buried with nothing ever being mentioned? Same with gators and bears. They keep stocking them where they aren't wanted.
