Is this what things are coming to?

What if you are in town in a hotel but not attending game? Still forced to pay NIL tax

This is getting beyond ridiculous

And if you are looking for a link, the home page BK SEC press conference link has it in there

If this is for real, a business person in BR for business shouldn’t be having to foot LSU NIL money.

Is paying into a fund to pay college athletes really what taxes are meant for?

I'm sure this is technically a fee and not a tax.
Whatever it is, just shows how out of hand NIL has gotten

It is absurd to use tax money to fund NIL.

I get that. But whatever it is, the fact that it is being considered is a sad testament to what college athletics has become.

You’re already paying for this if you participate in online sports betting in LA

How can any of you act surprised. I’m telling the canes logo on helmet is next. And tix prices will skyrocket. Fuk the entire sport now.

I do not. Seems absurd to tax business owners who may have attended a school other than LSU to pay LSU athletes.

Can you imagine if the legislature/governor decided to steer tax money toward Tulane or ULL. LSU fans would not be happy.

And take it a step further if other states do this.

Do you want to travel to Birmingham, Austin or wherever and pay an extra fee to support Bama’s or Texas’ NIL fund?

And what if you are in town staying in a hotel but not going to a game? Still have to pay into this fund?

why does the money get to go to LSU? Why not Southern? They are in EBR parish too.

Why not go to ULL, Southeastern, etc? They are in LA.

This is out of hand.

What hotel is charging NIL tax? This is the first I've heard of it.

The sports betting tax goes to 11 different public universities. I’d imagine it would look something similar.

If I ever saw it on my hotel bill, I'd kindly ask that it be removed.

Take away their tuition
Make them learn what real things cost these days

We’ve been funding’s tops for decades

Should we really care? Hotels and rental car companies routinely charge taxes and fees for projects such as new stadiums and other special interests. I travel every week and see line items like this frequently. Nothing unusual and makes no difference to me.

You damn right we should care! And the fact that you don’t, and others don’t show how incredibly fricked up our priorities in life have become.

Just maybe those tax dollars should fund road improvements, law enforcement, fire protection, education, etc etc etc.

The fact that our tax dollars support billionaires that own sports franchises is pure insanity. Paying taxes to support college football players to make more money is pure insanity. Rant over.
