Interesting notes on the woman who rammed the ICE vehicle in chicago

The woman who rammed the ICE vehicle and was shot by the agent....
In court her lawyer said the agent fired five times and she has "seven holes in her". He also said before she tried to ram the officer himself, he was heard saying "do something beetch" (I think that is referred to as FAFO).
By the way, the judge let her and her cohort out on bail, he noted "in lieu of the fact she needs medical care".

Maybe I’m reading that wrong but I don’t think “in lieu of” means what that judge thinks it means. If so, that’s kind of scary.
ETA: I’m glad the ice agent hit her that many times

Was she acting unlawfully?

I’ll answer what I think you’re asking. If a judge over a United States court cannot properly speak the English language, I don’t have a lot of confidence in that person to read and interpret our laws fairly or accurately. If you cannot distinguish the nuances of our language, how can you enforce our laws, with all that that entails?
