Fallen (1998)

So I recently rewatched this, since we're in "spooky movie season". I thought it held up great.
I searched around and on most of the streaming services, it was only available as a rental. However, it's on youtube... both officially (free with ads), and there's a couple listings of "full movie" with a runtime of 2 hrs 3 minutes. I checked a couple of those, and picked one with great video quality.
Going to point out, "great video quality" is a relevant point here. It's a movie from the late 90's, you're not going to find a 4k version
(seems silly to bring that up but for younger folks, I do think they may need to be reminded of that). I think the version I settled on was might have been 720 or higher, and letterbox.
There were no ads or cuts, but there was an alteration- the music was muted. If you know the movie, you know the songs. But there's something at the initial title splash, and there's another at the very end. Beyond that, the movie is completely intact.
If you never saw the movie, ever- pay and get a full version without ads
, it's worth it for the complete experience. But you're honestly going to be paying just for that song at the end.
Like I said, it held up great. It's not a "classic scary movie", no jump scares or other stuff like that. Great cast, Denzel Washington, Donald Sutherland, John Goodman, James Gandolfini, all on their game.

Possession movies have always been kind of scary to me.

Very demonic flim, literally. Never liked them.. Especially ones featuring one of the worst fallen ones ever written about. He did a lot of damage of you believe the ancient texts.

IMO unless you are watching sports or something shot on location w/people who actually know how to light the set there really isn't a need for 4k. W/the few streaming services that even do 4k pushing it to their upper tier subscriptions I'm not even sure how much content is actually viewed in 4k by the vast majority of people these days.

I don't think there's anything that glorifies or promotes. If anything, it paints a somewhat realistic concept that evil entities do exist among us, in the real world. Being aware of that possibility is important, to realize things aren't all just mankind and human nature etc.

Ever since I watched Fallen when it came out, every time I hear that song I think of that scene.
Such an awesome movie. Denzel and Goodman are great in this.

And as I stated, it's also unofficially free on youtube too
Basically, your choice is: free with ads, or free and missing the audio of 2 songs.
I don't recall the opening song, and I already know what plays at the end. To me, that's an acceptable tradeoff to avoid any ads or breaks in the film itself- the story is so tight and compelling, you want it to keep rolling.
If you've NEVER seen it, then it's worth the $5 or so to rent it, and get it uncut, with those songs intact. And that closing song is worth having, as it is extremely fitting.

Great movie. Top 3 Denzel for me.
Crazy looking at his filmography over 5 years starting in 98. He did:
Fallen
He got game
The Bone Collector
The Seige
Remember the Titans
Training Day
John Q
Antwone Fisher
Man on Fire
