T or F: If LSU solves its QB problem (Nuss vastly improves or MVB comes in and lights it up), LSU will be a top 5 team.

Only if MVB comes in and lights it up. Some of Nuss's problems will not go away with coaching.

Point being, we've been so obsessed on the qb issue, if we get improvement there, still are going to need vast improvement on oline and running game and other areas if we want to be competitive for the NC.

Insert running game for QB and it may be right.

No running game is probably our biggest issue right now. We have so many issues on offense my head spins just thinking about it.

Very true. We have an elite defense. Just need an average offense that can move the ball and keep them off the field.

You’re going to have to be more specific with “solves its QB problem” but I would lean towards probably not.

Improved accuracy, takes advantage of deep threats, and becomes more of a running threat for starters.

Doesn’t fix the running game unfortunately

Maybe. It would put us on the level of Alabama basically. Bama currently has a bad rushing offense like us but it should improve not that they have Jam Miller back. They have a really good defense like us. The difference is that they have had really good QB play.

Maybe.

I get that QB play has to get better, but it feels like we fall into the same trap every year — thinking the backup is the savior.

Even if Nuss makes a jump or MVB lights it up, that alone won’t make us a top-5 team. The O-line, the run game, and overall consistency still have to improve. Fixing one position won’t cover up the other gaps.

Nuss is definitely one issue, regardless if he's 100%, 80% or somewhere in between he's making bad decisions a QB of his experience should never make. The screen shot of his costly interception vs. Ole Miss showed that in spades, he literally had to look over two wide open receivers 10 or so yards down the field to throw to a triple covered receiver 20 or so yards down the field.

But make no mistake the o-line is the biggest issue with the offense and I don't think it's a talent issue. And at this point in the season I think there is very little hope that whether it's Sloane, Davis or both, that it gets significanlty better as far as running the ball and run scheme.

It's IMHO much more plausible that Nuss gets healthier and plays smarter and we improve significantly in our pas game - it's really our only shot.

We do really have a good defense. Let's not waste that.

False. Have to solve the O line problem.

I do think there's something to be said for a quarterback with confidence and a leadership mindset, which honestly, Nuss does not seem to inspire either. It seems like that gives an intangible boost to areas that are weak. In other words, someone who inspires the team With their leadership, makes others around them want to play better.

True. Wed have a good shot at 10-2. On our current course…we’re looking at 3 or 4 losses.

You can't coach against being the slowest QB in the SEC
