Have you ever rolled with Bye week players in your lineup? Did it work out or bite you?

16 team league full of people that don't know what they're doing. Multiple kickers, defenses, qbs drafted per team, and ridiculous waiver drops let me end up with this roster:

QB: Dak, Geno
RB: Bijan, Javonte Williams, Ken Walker, Jaylen Warren, Chase Brown, Charbonnet
WR: Adams, Pickens, Jameson Williams, Rice, Coleman, Aiyuk (IR)
TE: Pitts

Pitts is on bye this week, but I don't really want to drop anyone to grab who would be the worst player on my roster by far. Still, I'm 2-2. Would you roll the dice and risk a loss by keeping Pitts in the lineup or drop someone to plug in Tonges for one week for what should be a close matchup with my opponent?

You realize you have multiple QBs like those dumbasses you speak of, right?

Drop Geno then pick him back up if you want.

Because if I didnt get one, they'd all be gone. The only starters on the wire are Cam Ward and Rattler.

After this wire period, it looks like people are starting to drop backups, so not having a bye week replacement doesn't seem like it'll be an issue anymore. Geno is the obvious drop now.

I can't. Aiyuk is on IR.

I roll without kickers or defenses the first few weeks to hoard a few extra potential break out players, drop and add after each set of games. Usually end up finding an extra starter or at least a solid bench guy doing that. If I take a loss I take a loss.

I’ve done it but Pitts is not great. Waiver TE is probably just as good.

I went 3-0 in my 14-team league one year without a kicker cuz I didn't want to drop good players for byes. As scarce as the TE position is in a 16-team league I think I'd prefer to roll without a TE and keep the kicker in.

We had someone's mom come in to take a spot one year. She had no clue what she was doing and finished in 2nd place. People win bracket challenges by picking teams that are their favorite color. There's so much luck involved in this.

You can’t drop a player on IR?

You can, but that doesn't free up a roster spot.

Especially with online drafts. ESPN and Sleeper both have decent draft lists, sorted by ADP. Some of us spend hours and hours doing our own projections or at least scouring through 100 different "expert" rankings, but we are no more likely to draft a good team than someone who just takes the next person on the list as long as they watch for injuries and positional need.

I miss the days before internet rankings when the average player would walk into the draft with a 6 month old magazine and those of us who cared could dominate.

My first year was 2000 I think. I tried to read through a magazine and then saw some cheat sheets. I just went off what one them had and got my arse kicked. I learned a LOT about waivers that first year.

One of my redraft leagues is pretty mid. Has a few guys who know what they’re doing and a few that don’t.

I’m 1-3 even though I have the 3rd highest point total. shite happens.
