I’m loving this. Couldn’t have done it without the Dems forcing a shutdown.

He needs to hurry up and get on with it before the dems realize how bad their hand actually is that they are holding.

Trump:
Vance:

President Trump told reporters the federal government may "have to do layoffs" if the government shuts down.
"The Democrats want to shut it down, and so when you shut it down, you have to do layoffs," he told CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang in an Oval Office event before the Senate rejected two bills to keep the government open. "So we'd be laying off a lot of people that are going to be very affected. And they're Democrats, they're going to be Democrats."
Vance:
quote:
Vance was also asked if the administration has asked agencies to target federal workers they believe to be Democrats in the reduction of forces.
"We're not targeting federal agencies based on politics," Vance said.

Those comments aren’t mutually exclusive or even contradictory.

Federal workers pushing any political agenda should not be federal workers. That includes left and right. Trump may get rid of left pushers, and the next Democratic president will get rid of the right pushers. In truth, I suppose each president is free to have his own agenda. Sad, but true.

There should be no government workers that aren’t essential. If you aren’t essential you aren’t needed.

It’s time Mr. President. They have suckled enough off the taxpayers hard earned money.

Yup. Went to the office today and saw many many govies walking out the door with a brown box.
No one deserves to work in the federal governemnt. It is service to country, not glorified welfare.

Total government employees U.S. 2023| Statista LINK
The total fed workforce is high but it is not extremely high in relation to prior years going back to 1982. The highest was 3.19 million in 1990, the lowest 2.71 million in 2004. If Trump admin can get it down to its lowest, that would be great.
Seeing that the number of employees is not relatively that much higher over time, then the government expansion must be through contractors and NGOs. It comes back to cutting SPENDING and not so much employees.

Correct. We aren't saving the taxpayers jack shite by getting rid of federal employees. And some of them actually do beneficial work and we get a good ROI

Won’t spending go up?
Will have to contract out the work and federal emplayers are paid less than comparable workers in same role.
