It's been a few years but Total Wine was the cheapest around when I bought for my wedding.

We used martins wine cellar, in new orleans. This was because they provided the bartenders for the event since the venue needed a licensed vendor to serve alcohol. Something to think about for liability as well.

Yea in bulk total wine, or try wooden cork online if you are buying regular stuff. Their prices are higher on rare spirits but cheaper on run of the mill ones.

More goes into it, but liquor basically can't be sold at a discount. The percentage above it's wholesale price that it is sold isn't set by the a store. It must be sold at least 6% above the inventory cost. Also, "bulk" liquor like a bar buys is actually more expensive.
Your best bet is to hit a major retailer like Costco since they can factor in "free" bottles they receive for buying hundreds of cases as part of their "wholesale" cost.

What this guy said
I live in BR but have used them for several things, they’ll travel in for it, supply the bartenders, and you pay for whatever gets opened (and keep it if it doesn’t get finished ). It’s always come out way cheaper than expected

Costco will also let you return unopened bottles if that matters to you.
