QB stats comparison

Spencer Rattler:
Pass: 192 ypg, 67%, 5.2 avg, 5TD-1INT; Rush: 25 ypg, 6.4 avg; Stats: 56.4 QBR, 75.1 QBERT, 88.4 RTG
Bo Nix:
Pass: 215 ypg, 66%, 6.3 avg, 7TD-4INT; Rush: 19.5, 3.1 avg; Stats: 51.1 QBR, 73.1 QBERT, 87.9 RTG
Aaron Rodgers:
Pass: 197 ypg, 68.5%, 7.3 avg, 8-3; Rush: 2.75 ypg, 1.2 avg; Stats: 45.9 QBR, 75.5 QBERT, 102.6
Looking at the advanced stats (as well as a lot of the un-advanced stats) Spencer is outplaying or playing at former 1st rounders from his draft class and vet HOFers. With like no oline or help otherwise. So I have a really hard time buying that Rattler is the problem.

No one is saying he's the problem. They're saying he isn’t the solution, at keast the long term answer. And I don't know if that's true. I don't think anyone knows of that's true because of how arse the team around him is.
They also say at this point we might as well see what Shough has since the season is throw away, and we've that Rattler is at least pretty good. That is a lot more fair, though I don't know if Shough is ready. Only Kellen knows the answer to that question. We don't want to rush him into a Ceasor Ruiz OL and get ruined.

To me, this is where stats are misleading. While his competition percentage is good, it should be because he has to throw everything short. Think of the 4th and 2 he threw to AK for a yard. An example of an ineffective completion.
Rattler is simply not accurate enough at this point to throw downfield. His completion percentage is higher because of short throws but limits the offense. Also, the easy passes that he has missed -2 of which would have been TDs - that is the problem.

I bet you Nix and Rodgers have thrown a bunch of deep shots that were near a receiver. Most QBs can dink and dunk. Rattler has no accuracy past 15 yards. Hence, he is not a starting QB in this league. Teams will just continue to crunch the field as he is no threat to hitting the long ball.
That is the main reason I want to pu Shough in now. He will kill drives and make mistakes, but he has the deep accuracy that will open up the offense more.

Another thought that I have not seen brought up is, if they went into this season realizing it is a throw away season, why do they need to rush Shough into the games if you are trying to give both players legitimate shots to be the future.
Give Rattler 8-9 games running Moore's offense, then bring in Shough to finish the year over the final 8-9 games. It doesn't necessarily have to be an even split, but you have to give the guys more than a few games if you are trying to judge them properly while running a new system. Again, if it's a throw away season and the record does not matter; let's see the actual results on the field over a larger sample size.

After the Giants game, Rattler will have 11 starts. There would be 11 games remaining. Give those to Shough and compare.

But only 5 of those running Moore's system. I doubt Moore cares what Rattler looked like running Kubiak's system with his inability to make in game adjustments.
FYI, I am all for starting Shough now; I'm just throwing out another reason why I could see Moore sticking with Rattler for a few more games.
