Nuss forgotten injury...

Everybody is focused on the reported oblique injury, but the injury that was reported on in summer camp that everyone said he had to play through was his patellar tendon injury, That injury may be part of the problem. Anyone remember which knee it was?
I watched several clips of Nuss throwing this season and on a number of throws he doesn’t stride normally and land firmly on his left foot. He throws off his back foot at times (all arm).
In some cases he had rush up the middle that was getting close, but other times he had no one within 3 yards of him and he still throws off of his back foot.
The floater to Zavion vs Ole Miss that went for 50 yards was a perfect example. No reason not to step into that throw. It was all arm with no stride and weight transfer.
Just a thought, as it might explain why he seems good and not good from game to game or even drive to drive. The reported tendon issue is chronic and may tighten up on him at times.
Just a thought no one seems to be mentioning.

Just about every throw down the field. He can flick the sideline stuff and you wonder why we run so much of that.

Why was this such a big secret? BK fcuked himself over

Nuss always had a tendency to throw off his back foot at times, often even when he has time and space to step into throws. It's one of the things I never liked about him. And his failure to fix these poor mechanics by this point in his career does not bode well for any future NFL aspirations.

He has done that his entire career here and constantly moves away from the throw. It leads to a lot of inaccurate balls.

On the throw to Zavion he did the same as on the throw to Hilton that was posted on twitter yesterday. He stepped and landed on his left foot but pulled it back, didn’t transfer his weight, and basically just shot putted it.

Exactly. Could be oblique related. But the knee tendon could be part of the issue.

Appears to be favoring left knee

He threw off his back foot last season also.

I know. I’m just saying him throwing off his back foot and falling away from throws is nothing new for him. He’s done it his whole time here c

When Brees had the oblique injury in 2015, I think, he played through the injury and said it really messed up his mechanics (he was changing things up a bit to avoid the pain). According to him, it messed up his mechanics so badly that he spent the entire next offseason correcting things. I recall this pretty well because when Carr suffered the same injury, he consulted Brees about it.
Not saying the knee thing isn’t possible, just saying that injuries definitely change mechanics, and Nuss’ have been funky.

So why does he keep jumping in the air with both feet and knees as high as he can prior to the start of each series. When my back is hurt I don’t lift heavy stuff. When my knee is hurt I try not to jump down off the back of the truck etc

He struggled to throw a pass from the left hash to the right sideline first down stick. The ball was a rainbow rather than a line drive and that begs for a pick 6.

Go back and watch the two underthron go routes from Saturday. Both woefully underthrown. I don't think it's coincidence that each of those balls traveled exactly 40 yards in the air. You know why folks? Because that's as far as he can throw a ball right now.

I thought that too but after throwing and skipping a few times; he hauls arse downfield like he's going to make a lead block. Pretty sure he was running faster there than the few times he runs a QB draw.
