Offensive improvement - is it possible?

Clearly the O is holding this team back.

We haven’t seen any improvement on that side of the ball (SELA doesn’t count). The final scoring drive against OM leaves room for some optimism, though as of right now we are not playoff caliber.

Was wondering if anyone can think of a season where an LSU team went from garbage on offense to efficient in the same season? Looking for a reason to hold onto hope.

They have nowhere to go but up, so yes, they can improve. Will it ever be fix? No, it's systematically broken and one flip on the game film will show you that. Nobody knows their assignments and everyone is absolutely lost. At every level. WRs, OL, RBs, QB, TE. This team is not going to the playoffs this year so just realize it and lower your expectations. Would take a miracle worker at coach to flip this around and you don't have the right guy at the helm to do this.

Of course it’s possible. It’s always possible. However, personally I think there are too many problems overall on that side of the ball to improve enough to be a national championship contender. I would love for them to prove me wrong though.

The answer is yes it is possible too much talent on that side of the ball for it not to be but after the first five weeks of the season I would be shocked.

I don’t think over night switch will be flipped and this offense will scoring 40+ a game. Improvement for me is sustaining drives consistently.

If nuss can get healthy and we can actually blow the top off of defenses, everything else will open up. They are selling out bc they know we can’t beat them over the top right now

This!!

Anyone expecting big improvements are delusional. There is a systemic fundamental problem in the program. The problem cannot be fixed mid season. But… yes, some marginal improvement can be made.

The bye week came at a great time to improve our problems, but we still have issues going all the way back to last year. Sloan's scheme and play calling, and the awful o line development aren't going away overnight.

With the situation we’re in, the only chance we have this season is for Nuss to just say f-it and run. Him running is our only chance to open things up. If he gets hurt, then at least we tried but it’s the only way to free up the pressure this offense is getting.

We still aren't going to win games if we can't run the ball or protect against 3 man rushes. No 3rd down is easy when you can't run the ball to get that 3rd and 1 or 2 for a 1st down, or get a nice 5-6 yard run on 1st down. It's insanely difficult to keep drives alive.

Really can’t blame this on anyone else other than the coaches, not like the guys we have on offense were bums no one else wanted. Pretty much all were highly sought after.

when defenses can consistantly get to Nuss with a 3 man rush it's not likely the passing game or the running game opens up.

lol. They aren’t selling out at all. They are sitting back and letting us throw 7 yard pass after 7 yard pass because they know it’s not going to equal a touchdown. They also are putting 4-6 people in the box max because we cannot run the ball.
