Charlie masterfully lays out proof that we were founded as a Christian nation

Worth 2 minutes to watch this clip of how brilliant Charlie was. Highlights: 9 of original 13 states required office holders to swear that they were Bible believing Christians; Adams quote about Constitution only works if populace is moral; tension between being found as a Christian nation, but no longer being one (of course he was doing the heavy lifting of helping us return to being a Christian nation).
Nice to see how awe struck his fellow Christian apologists were in watching Charlie's genuis in real time. Highly suggest you watch if you want to debate people about the secular v Christian divide in governance.

David Barton has been doing it for a long time now, and exceptionally when one takes the time to wade through the overwhelming evidence he presents in our history.

Is this the 9 of the 13 colonies you had to make a declaration of faith that many of the original colonies were founded as religious societies
Multiple mentions of God in the Declaration of Independence a mention of Jesus Christ
Again it's why I say that many of you aren't really conservatives because you don't understand the underlying foundations of this country i'm glad that Charlie Kirks death brought it your attention but you should have learned that middle school

Thanks for posting! I have been to two of their programs, which were (mostly) great.
My only beef: they divide America historically into two strands. The Plymouth Puritan strand are the good guys who abolished slavery v the degenerate Jamestown strand who bolstered slavery.
Way too complex for here, they missed a bunch on that analysis. Despite that, they are doing the Lord's work.

You can't segregate religion out of society if you don't start it in the schools.

No one learns this in middle school.

proof that we were founded as a Christian nation
Was the country founded by the DOI?
Not a chance.
Was the country founded by the Articles of Confederation?
Nope.
The Constitution is our founding document.
Given the above, Charlie offers no proof whatsoever. We were founded as a country with freedom of faith. The vast majority of our population was Christian and free to practice their faith.

Amen. Despite having worked on a PhD in American history, I never heard ANY of this until we joined a CREC church (Doug Wilson's denomination) four years ago. Prior to that, I got the usual Treaty of Tripoli and Jefferson's Danbury Baptist letter shallow and misleading drivel about separation of church and state.

You're right that 99% of us didn't learn that in (public) middle school. The academy associated with our church teaches this...and is growing rapidly.

The Puritans were heavily works based backloaded to Grace through Faith. It’s no great wonder they try to lay claim to it, but the truth of the matter is that true abolitionism was minuscule compared to the disinterest amongst all Americans with slavery, preferring rather to enjoy the fruits that came as a result of cheap cotton and textiles from chattel slavery. Keep in mind, this is the same people who profited greatly from the sweat and cheap overhead of America’s immigrants and children. They are certainly not as godly as they would have you think they were.

But how?
With modern progressives, post 1960's, claiming that separation of church and state means that nothing born of the state can even mention religion.
That is not at all what separation of church and state means.

Not only were the colonists Christians, they designed their laws to coincide with their faith. Of course, not all donimations were identical and they wrote different laws. In Massachuesettes gambling of any form was illegal. In Virginia gambling was popular. Farmers even made bets on who would grow the most crops by Fall. If the loser didn't pay he went to jail.

I cannot believe that you can listen to such a short video and still not understand what you watched.

You make some good points, I would have enjoyed hearing Charlie's response.
I THINK it would have been along the lines of "yes, individuals were free to practice their individual faith, but we're talking about the assumption that we would be governed in accordance with Christian principles."

Either you did not understand Kirk's comments, or you did not understand mine.

That is not at all what separation of church and state means.
But the separation was government should not interfere with religion not that religious people should not be involved in government
And I would have been in middle school in the mid-70s and we still did the Pledge of Allegiance
Religion had not been scraped out of schools yet I had teachers used to open the day with a prayer

At a public school? Was it discussed that such teaching conflicted with what most are taught about a strict wall of separation between church and state?

Understood yours just fine. You did not understand how he laid the blocks for this being a nation founded on Christian principles. He talked about individual state Constitutions, the need to make a declaration of faith to be a citizen of those states, where natural law came from, etc.
You just got stuck on "well what document does he consider tUSA being founded upon". Paraphrased you yes, but he gave plenty of proof. You just did not grasp it.
