Canceled when Plant's 5 y/o son passing away from an infection.

My oldest brother, RIP, had a ticket to that show. He kept it for years.

I watched it yesterday and never realized he got the news about Karac while in New Orleans.
Made me think about how wild it was to see him at Jazzfest in 2014. Was the first time he'd done an official show there since LZ broke up (which I didn't know at the time, I was just happy to get away from all the PHANS that day)

I went to the make-up show at the PMAC in Baton Rouge on 05/19/77.
I will have to research when it was because one website is still listing the original date 05/19/77.
ETA: It was a long time ago..maybe the 05/19 show was the makeup show for when Robert Plant got in the auto accident in 1975.

. The entire tour was cancelled after the death of Robert Plant's son, Karac, on July 26, 1977

Yes, Led Zeppelin canceled a major 1975 North American tour due to a car accident in Greece where Robert Plant sustained severe injuries to his ankle and elbow, requiring a two-year recovery period and delaying the band's recording and touring plans.

What make-up show? They played in Baton Rouge in 1975 (Physical Graffiti Tour) as well as 1977 (Presence Tour).

The day tickets went on sale my uncle picked me up (not old enough to drive yet) and we went to Stans Music Shop in downtown Shreveport. There was a line out the door.
Tickets were 10 bucks a piece and that was pretty steep

So, so very jealous. I was eight when they disbanded. If I had a time machine...

My tickets for the Pontiac SilverDome show were for nothing

I remember. I was at work and heard it on the radio. A buddy had tickets and I called and told him what happened. What a bummer, but nothing compared to the death of a child...

It was a long time ago and the 70s are somewhat blurry……
