I am talking about a rocks glass mainly.

The normal ones I have at my house could swallow some that I havd been given in restaurants lately.

Strangely the prices aren’t less…

It’s because 1.5 oz in a smaller glass looks better than 1.5 oz in a bigger glass.

If you are mixing drinks then the 1.5 oz is diluted more in a larger glass. People at restaurants complain that they are getting “weak drinks” when they are paying for 1.5 oz. So restaurants started using smaller drinks. It’s the same 1.5 oz but with less mixer which equals less complaints.

Not sure about the glass size, but the big fancy ice cube or ice ball keeps getting bigger and bigger, filling up the glass and shorting you of your well-deserved alcohol purchase.

No decent, legitimate bar or restaurant is shorting the alcohol in drinks. That kind of thing spreads fast and the business loss is immediate.

I guarantee you're still getting the same 1.5 or 2 ounces depending on the drink you got with the smaller ice cubes.

Hopefully the martini glasses are. Those have been too big for too long.

Probably true, for the most part. I do notice that at some restaurants, I order an Old Fashion, and it lasts me 10-15 minutes. At other places, that 1 drink might last throughout my meal.

Same with Poseidon's in Lafayette. Aristos doesn't skimp on the booze. They'll fill the glass, and it ain't just a bunch of sugar water either.

Don's on the other hand...while I like their OF's, those can be drank in two sips these days.
