I remember being entertained when I saw it the first time, now I find myself skipping parts and there’s some glaring issues that bug me (like her swimming in space).

Can’t stand the love story between the two Japanese women. I mean get over it lady. And the psychologist in season 2 would have been fired.

I do like the soldier guy, Casper, and the Iranian doctor lady though

Yeah I remember enjoying season 1, and started losing interest in season 2. It just felt like the show was treading water. Doubt I’ll ever watch season 3.

The first two seasons could have been two-hour movies each. Way too much filler and annoying characters.

Season 3 is slightly better but not great.

I have a vague memory of watching this series. How long has it been between seasons?

I remember wanting to like it, but damn, it got so annoying in parts. Really dumb stuff that happened. S3 cranked up again? Guess I'll give it a look.

Didn't Sam Neil appear in the 1st episode? If we get a follow up to his disappearance, that would be possibly epic?

They have had a lot of time between seasons. I enjoy the show but the filler gets in the way. I put it on par with the season of Expanse where they try to make Naomi a character you give a shite about

Valid point. However, I've rewatched it again (in fact, just picked up the blue-ray set) and the problem wasn't that her antics were so bad, it was just carried on waaaay too long! Her getting stuck on that ship after taking the free walk in space was actually pretty impressive. But against the rest of the show, it just felt bogged down in knee high mud, I wish they'd have not dragged it out so long.

Invasion has gotten zero play or advertising, it seems. Out a month ago? And I'm just hearing about it now. Weird. It can't be a cheap series either.

That was a solid episode. It drug on too long and the theory, iirc, was to give her more screen time.

I keep watching Invasion and it keeps torturing the shite out of me. I’m determined to get through this last season without killing myself.

It’s really a bad show, but I can’t help myself.

Apple doesn’t seem to really advertise anything outside of Severance and a few of their original movies. The only reason I knew anything about Invasion was that it popped up as suggested forever.

I decided to give it a try when S3 came out. Binging the first 2 seasons, I didn’t think it was nearly as bad as people made out when it was first released. In fact I thought season 1 was actually better than season 2. Maybe I’m crazy, idk.

But now that I’ve been watching season 3 in real time, I think I see the biggest issue. It’s painfully slow in a weekly release format. You don’t notice it as much when you binge but it’s tough watching week to week.

It also seems like they are really making it up as they go. I think that’s probably my biggest gripe with mystery box shows. I understand that writers don’t know whether a show is going to be renewed, but it’s like they had no plan for character development at all beyond season 1. It’s very disjointed.

I just wish they'd write characters who'd react to things like normal people. There's too much forced drama, and based on what the entire PLANET has gone though, the return of Trevante Cole was super cringe. No one listened to him, and of course, they suspect he's an alien or alien influenced. Yet they still decide he's good, but they really don't?

And what the hell is up with labeling everything 'former' Tokyo, London, or whatever. Why would countries all collapse and not exist anymore but people still live in cities and life carries on pretty much unchanged? This 'after' world is

2 eps down, and this is really a slog.

I think the point of saying “former United Kingdom” or whatever is that the entire planet is now under a unified government, so those countries don’t really exist anymore. Kind of like how we might talk about the “former Soviet Union.”

..except not really, because you wouldn’t say “Moscow, former Soviet Union.” You’d say “Moscow, Russia.” Even if the US or UK government doesn’t exist, it seems like there would still have to be some sort of regional government. So I do agree that it’s silly regardless.

I don’t think it’s very good right now, but at this point I’m committed.

And I forgot the biggest gripe!

Aside from the 'former' crap, they end every location with 'Earth'!!

Umm, what other planets have we been to ? And if we're CLEARLY in Japan, there's no need to add the further qualifier of 'Earth' when of COURSE it is. It comes off as pretentious and excessive.

This isn't freaking Star Wars, or Dune, where the story spans multiple planets, systems, etc... it's Earth. It's ALL on Earth. And when there's some alien ship scene, the viewer understands all this. It's such cringe.

Episode four. Getting real tired of Trevante saying he doesn’t remember or he can’t explain it. And yet he CAN explain certain things he just chooses not to. He saw a blue wall of semi translucent organic material. He said he saw something behind the wall, but for frick sake, he doesn’t come out and say this to anyone. God this is terrible writing.

And it gets worse- adults whining to an FBI office receptionist about having to wait & wanting to be home for dinner with their kids. Because receptionist lady is also married with kids, so she would understand? What the hell even is this show? Do these people really believe that’s how the real world works? Oh, and never mind that there’s another global emergency currently happening,

E5 - Somehow, this show keeps getting worse.

Helicopter goes down, plot armor for everyone except the toss away characters (both pilots - because there's no helo to fly now, they can die)

One idiot soldier pops out and starts yelling up at the other helicopter, as if they can't see him but yelling will help?? A fire fight breaks out, & head DIC (director in charge) guy, 200+ feet above in the working helo covers his EARS with both hands (not wearing a headset, ffs) I guess because the gunfire down below is so loud?? This show makes no fricking sense!

So the good helo sees and opening to land, so they can try to pick up survivors. We don't see it land, but somehow it's right next to trees, like basically IN the forest, engines off. blades not turning. Pilot lady - "It's dead". Why? Don't know. REASONS! Landed just fine, no hint of a problem getting 3 feet away from those massive pines, but the plot needs the 2nd helicopter to be dead so the story can be more dramatic.

And nobody can use their damn words for anything. Time after time, " What happened? " I can't say...it's hard to explain." fricking cheap arse cop out lame writing. I don't know if I can finish this one.

E6 has to be the wokest garbage ever.

Full of black woman splaining, obligatory wheelchair character, subtle ’muh racism’ between adult coworkers , and that’s just the first 5 minutes.

I agree. I was laughing at the "elite group of soldiers" that acted nothing like a tier one group but they nailed the diversity
