I own a company that requires me to drive alot. Anytime im in W.Texas, I see alot of dead coyotes. Anytime im traveling upwards through Bama/Ga./South Carolina, ive seen alot of deer who dont make it across the interstates. Ive seen a large Hawk of some kind hit on the hwys. Dead Armadillos in Louisiana etc.

Anywhere else has anyone seen some type of animal you wouldn't otherwise see as road kill?

I guess my point is, it would seem that deer are too smart to cross a major hwy/interstate but they aren't.

Has anyone ever seen a Wolf as road kill or any other animal you wouldnt think would go into traffic? I would think they are too smart.

No dolphins, they are super smart.

Humans are sometimes hit though, particularly if trying to block a highway.

See a alligator that didn’t make it across the road down here every now and then.

oh yeah. Is it because of poor eyesight?

Other than dogs, cats, cows, deer, coyotes etc, I was wondering what uncommon species have been victims of the hwy systems in different parts of the country.

As a company owner, I have had to take precautions for these types of occurrences.

come on man. No seriously, ive always wondered if a wolf who is very intelligent ever got hit. I'd assume they stay away from hwys.

Humans, thats just crazy, we all hear the story's about so and so. Had a friend decades ago, lose his gf(beautiful young woman) right on Nicholson in traffic at night near LSU. pretty terrible.

When I lived in Northbrook, IL, just north of Chicago, there were dead deer roadkill everywhere. And unlike around here, no one ever picked them up to make sausage, or something.

saw a bear outside monroe on 20, a big gator on 10 between orange and lake charles. lot of squirrels and snakes around my neighborhood. lot of deer between breckenridge tx and san antonio. one deer in dfw where 20 and 408 merge. 2 of the biggest bucks i have seen were walking together across a street about 8 blocks from downtown grapevine. another huge buck standing on 377 about 1 mile north of roanoke.

Small deer were all over the road out near Ingram years ago like possums are here. During mating season, skunks were all over the roads in southern Kansas.

yeah I've seen one or two. Weirdest one I saw was one is Deep South West Texas next to a large pond by a ranch(no rivers, no marsh areas). Evidently it came out of the pond onto the shoulder of the hwy perhaps and got hit. He looked about 7 ft. A dot puc up truck was parked next to it, I guess had it called into wildlife(it could have been still alive). I found it odd an alligator was naturally there. I think someone put him in that pond but he got bigger and tried to get out of there. Pond was close to the hwy down a hill side of a beautiful ranch where I was traveling.

Alligator is what I see the most of, well unrecognizable fur ball is probably #1.

Saw a huge otter on the bridge by my house in NW Arkansas. I thought it was odd since you can easily go under along the creek

Moose are common in Southcentral Ak. In fact, there is a reclamation process and donate the meat to needy/charity.
