Is the Department of Education still being dismantled and eliminated?

The most recent article I could find for the DOE said that it is about to hand out $ half a billion dollars in funding.
Is it going to be eliminated during Trump’s term? Or was that ‘just something you say’.
inb4 I’m a leftist because I am questioning Trump and want to eliminate the Department of Education.

As much as we'd like, they aren't going to shutter it overnight. It's being wound down.

Shouldn't be more than a committee that provides an educated guess or forecast to the States as to what the needs of the future will be.

I believe it's being slowly dismantled with the idea of it eventually being just a pass-through for federal education funding to go to the states.
