I got the message the first 20 times. I have a newer laptop that gets you more than obnoxious weekly updates.

Is it running Windows 11? If not you better check that it can. Otherwise you're screwed

I am holding out as long as I possibly can which seems to be middle of next month. Only have to worry about my Gaming Desktop otherwise everything else is Apple in my house.

They're not weekly updates, you may be getting reminders to install security updates MS tried to push on you in July, which you keep refusing to do for some reason, though. Patch Tuesday is once a month, and there are quarterly or half year "updates" outside of that.
The irrational fear of Windows 11 is up there with TDS.

Dual boot it with Ubuntu. Use ubuntu for secure transactions. Enjoy windows other times.

So they're gonna charge you to keep security threats out of a perfectly fine working OS?
And what will you do in a year? You're still screwed.
And BTW, love all the downvotes from all the clueless out there.
Even if you hack your older computer to accept Windows 11, it will not allow you to install regular updates. So you are are still wide open to viruses and attacks etc.
