Starbucks is laying off 900 more corporate workers and closing some North American stores, the latest moves to trim costs and plow money into improving its cafes.

The Seattle-based coffee company said Thursday that most of the affected positions are located in North America. Starbucks said it is also eliminating many open positions. The company plans to notify affected workers Friday and asked corporate employees to work from home Thursday and Friday.

The layoffs are the second round that the coffee giant has undertaken since Chief Executive Brian Niccol took the helm roughly a year ago. Niccol has said the reductions are needed to direct more resources toward its stores, where he is boosting labor and training to make cafes more hospitable.

Maybe just me but I’ve never had a negative interaction with a barista at Starbucks.

I do not go into a Starbucks due to my Nespresso machine but prior to Nespresso, I did not go due to the political stances and attitudes projected by Starbucks and its employees.

They had a good run and coffee, like the drink at a bar or night club, is very cheap to make. However, when in sales, why involve politics?

Can you even imagine what a "Charlie Kirk" drink could do for Starbucks right now?

7-BREW is running them out of Louisville.

They put a new shop next to every Starbucks in town, and the lines at 7-BREW are wrapped all day operating from like 5am to midnight every day of the week.

I don't go either. Why patronize a place that hates conservatives?

Exactly. Opportunity is there but once again the cult called Starbucks will not allow it.
