Didn’t know he was coaching but he’s doing a hell of a job tonight!

I saw him on hard knocks, when he was the lb coach last year. I had no idea he took over as the dc. Good for him!

He’s a real up and coming coach in the League. I’ve been a Lions fan for a while (and finally a happy one in recent years) and he’s doing a hell of a job keeping it rolling after both Coordinators got poached.

Might be a good person to look at when Baker inevitably leaves to become a headcoach.

You mean for HC, right?

Or do you think an NFL DC is going to leave a perennial Super Bowl Contender to be a DC at LSU?

7 sacks, most ever on Lamar. And mostly shut down Henry.

A team that has actually never played in the Super Bowl?

That’s as casual as casual gets right there.

Yeah, let’s pretend that they suck when they’ve been on the doorstep the last two seasons.

Did I say they sucked?

They’re a really easy team to root for right now. But until they kick the door in and win one they aren’t “perennial Super Bowl contenders.”

The point was about them being a contender. They’ve been a legit Super Bowl contender for two years and they are set up to be for at least the next 2-4 with the roster they have. There evidently no matter what the franchise’s fricking history is. They were cheap and didn’t care for decades. Now they spend money and give a shite and we all see that on the field.

The question was about Sheppard leaving. Why would an NFL DC with that situation leave for a downgrade in job? I love LSU, but any college DC job would be a major downgrade for an NFL DC on the rise. He will be in line for a head coaching gig in another year or two performing at this level.

That just a non-sensical statement. They are absolutely Super Bowl contenders. They are again this year and will likely be for the next few seasons. Not getting there yet doesn’t have anything to do with it if they are making the NFCCG.

He won’t. He will probably be coaching the Dolphins or some dogshit organization looking for lightning in a bottle in a year or two.

I was sitting there watching the game last night thinking he would be an awesome HC at LSU

That's exactly what I meant. Is it likely? Maybe not, but you absolutely kick the tires. He'd also likely make more money as a coordinator for LSU.
