Been thinking about something and figured I’d through it out to you guys…. After all… there is no greater diversity of opinions than the OT (said tongue-in-cheek)
So, I collect change in my truck. The silver I place in a cup and add to my change bucket inside the house.
The Pennie’s however- - I separate and place in an empty water bottle on my door. Historically whenever it was full, I’d just give it to a homeless person at a red light.
It tends up being close to $10 in Pennie’s - - But in reality pennies are a hassel. Most places won’t take them loose. It’s a pain to find rollers these days. I’ve wondered if what I assumed was a kind gesture is really a passive duck-move.
What say you OT? Continue the practice or am I the a-hole for dumping pennies on the homeless?

Why are you encouraging more homeless?

I suppose you only give them the stump of the muffin too.

Funny you mentioned this. It was this episode that got me thinking

You’re being an a-hole to people who pay to live in the neighborhoods where you hand out money, by encouraging beggars to stay there.

You need to organize the Penny’s into separate pint containers by year and by mint mark. Nobody likes to get a mixed pint of Pennys these days.

A penny for your thoughts

If you go look, the "penny" is officially called a cent. Penny is taken from our British ancestors. The coin reads "cent".

You should use those pennies for a lesson in spelling and grammar.

I think you should give your pennies... to a JC Penny's.

No it isn’t.
Also, quit encouraging beggars.

Or if you want immediate counting, look for those Coinstar machines in Walmart or other grocery stores. I haven’t used one in a while, but they took like 10% cut to just convert to cash or no fee if you converted to Amazon gift card

It would be more fun to throw them at the homeless

You should collect them over a year and bury them. Then hand the homeless guy a treasure map.
