Going to make some pork sausage. I’ve used leggs in the past but it just doesn’t do anything for us anymore. I really like jimmy dean pork sausage. Is there anything out there close to it? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

All I got but you might call Targill in Opelousas and ask them what they have that’s close.

This is my recipe and it’s really good:

Breakfast sausage link recipe

* 4 1/2 pounds (1lbs pork belly, 3.5 lbs Boston butt)
* 5 teaspoons fine sea salt
* 4 teaspoons ground sage
* 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
* 2 teaspoons finely ground white pepper

Rebel butcher Check out Rebel butcher supply. They have several different sausage seasonings and make a really good bbq rub also.
We’ve been using their seasonings for a long time. No reason to change.

Deep South blenders in New Orleans area. We’ve been using their breakfast sausage blend for 30 years or more.

so why not just buy Jimmie Dean? They are the best to many looking for a breakfast sausage for some reason. I like them too but found a copycat recipe online and make it with just Boston butt. Better grade of meat. But in the end it’s fat and salt and usually sugar that makes us like restaurant or grocery store produced foods.
