A boomers response, "Why are you marching dad"

Boomers catch a lot of hell for showing up at liberal demonstrations, for many it's a sea of white haired folks following the complainers. I think I figured it out, being 77, I am a classic boomer. When I was 20 years younger, I managed important stuff, travelled the world on business, raised a family, participated in community development, 24/7.
Today the phone no longer rings. Invitations no longer exists. My letters to the editor are not posted, next generation family is moving on, trips out of the house are to doctors. Comments to community action meetings are passed over, and there is a scam behind every web page. We are lonely drifting for a cause to justify getting dressed and out the door.
Liberal causes are shallow, and easier to navigate. Liberals like noise, drum beats, slogans noises loud enough for the hearing impaired. It's a boomer welcoming environment , irrespective of what the cause is about.
My career was large petrochemical industry and it served me very well. But now the industry considers me very obsolete and having no value. Yesterday I joined an established liberal environmental activist group because I think the opportunity to be a valued participant is there, and I might be able to influence the group in a positive manner.
Figure out how to involve Boomers in conservative causes. They need to feel valued. And it will keep them off the street behind BLM, LGTBQ, Palestine, covid etc activities. Your parents need this help.

You sound like my dad who left his family when I was 13 to champion liberal environmental causes and drink whiskey on the rez.

Shut up boomer
I'm a boomer. He made some good points. But the juxtaposition of his long post and the brevity of yours was excellent!

You give boomers a bad name.

How much are they paying you?

Respondents are the proof of my analysis. They are the reason for boomers getting involved in liberal causes.

Sorry baw. Figure out how to get the frick out of the way. Figure out how to not make the world revolve around you. Take up fishing, hunting, bingo, etc. Just stop thinking that you still have value to the mainstream of society. Your value, at this stage, is only to your great grandchildren. Buy some Worther’s Originals, and stop worrying about the world. There’s literally nothing you can do- except make it worse. Go fish.

I can see why'd you think that, but that doesn’t make it true.

Bull hockey... Everyone makes their own choices.
IF, IF, IF what you say is true... that Boomer Allegiance isn't to any particular cause, but is given based on who claps the loudest for them...
IF that is true- they were never gonna be conservative anyway.

According to OP, they're content to douse it in gasoline and strike a match on their way out because "someone didn't care what I had to say". Godless Pricks!!

A younger (64) boomer here and I do none of the crap you wrote. Retired and made sure I had stuff to do and places to go in my last 20 plus years. And I grew up in La so pretty anti govt period. Dont like either side as they are all grifters.
However Trump found this group of people and I personally believe this is by far the largest group in the way they want the country to be. Happy now and if JD gets 8 years followed by well wish it had been Charlie. Makes me sick to my stomach still. But we can make it back to good times if we get the next 8 years after Trump gets us set up. MAGA !!

So, now that the mask is completely off and the liberal left has shown themselves for the soulless monsters that they are, you joined up with them? I'm glad your new purely evil comrades have provided a renewed sense of belonging, but it's no wonder your "next generation family" has moved on from you.

Went to a wedding in little Mamou one time and had to show the local kids how to open fold lock top sandwich bags.
bad name covers an infinite amount of sins, could you be more precise

So you spent an entire career making money and doing great financially through oil and petrochemicals but now that you're retired you go virtue signal and join an environmental activist group. You are exactly what I imagine the stereotypical boomer to be. Glad to know your ethics are for sale.

In another year I will have received more retirement checks than I received payroll checks. I am sorry you lost out on defined benefit retirement programs
