Best backpack for air flight/ traveling?

What size are you looking for? Do you want something that fits under the seat, maximizes overhead bin space, or doubles as a daypack once you arrive?
If it's not your primary luggage, I like my Osprey Transporter and the 26+6 Daylite.
I use both depending up the type of trip.

I've been using this $30 Reebow from Amazon for about seven years. 
I like the amount of separate compartments, so I can separate my bag of batteries and cables so I can yank it out easily at security (I know I don't need to, but if I don't everyone wants to inspect it, especially at CDG.)
I want to swap it out for a GoRuck version, but I can't justify the cost because the cheap POS has held up so well.

I've had a Masterpiece backpack/briefcase for about ten years and it's the most useful bag I've ever had. I bought it originally because I was traveling a lot for business and needed something to carry on that I could also take to client meetings and it's fantastic. It's basically a soft briefcase that converts to a backpack, ideal size, if a bit pricey. It's been to five continents!

I have to take my Israeli and American flag morale patches off depending on what country I'm about to land in, particularly in Western Europe/UK. The Texas one can stay worldwide

I just got the Ogio Gambit backpack and really like it. Has a lot of well thought put storage and easy access to everything.

Nomatic isn't cheap, but great stuff. I sometimes have trips where I'm taking my travel bag with me all day to meetings, I look much more professional when walking into a meeting vs. looking like I just got off the plane from backpacking in Europe.

I have this, perfect for one nighters. Carries my electronics, plenty of room for a pair of shoes and a change of clothes or two. Rugged construction, it has held up very well. Thule Aion

Osprey Farpoint 40 is pretty danged good. Has a laptop sleeve/pocket that is great for organizing all electronics and cords. Main compartment has compression straps and seems to be near bottomless on what it will hold. I've packed for up to a week with it (and it definitely starts to swell a little beyond carryon but will still probably be allowed unless they're being dicks). Does have a hipbelt as well, which is super nice if you're going to be walking around a lot with it on.
