Hubris.
He literally thought that his shite didn’t stink and could say anything he wanted with impunity. And, the leftist entertainers that are throwing a hissy fit are also missing the point.
These self-important mf’ers CAN say whatever the hell they want.
BUT, despite what they think, they do have bosses. And, in Kimmel's case, it’s Sinclair.
If what he says is bad for business, then deuces dude…you’re fired. Just like anyone of us.

He’s an entertainer. He needs to stick to entertainment. He got woke to be accepted in Hollywood circles and started believing he was hot sheet.

When his side (Kamala, Joe, AOC, etc…) go on record and overtly declare Trump to be a fascist & a threat to democracy, it becomes mandatory for him to believe the lie. Repeat the lie. And frame everything under the sun as supporting evidence to promote the lie. Because truth is never on their side. Controlling the narrative is all they have.

Jimmy Kimmel believed his own press clippings. Truth is, Kimmel was placed in that job for one reason and one reason only. He was willing to be Disney/ABC's stooge and regurgitate exactly what his corporate media overlords wanted from him. Only problem is, he wasn't entertaining enough to draw sufficient ratings. That led to him being vulnerable to being cut loose once he went way too far.
