Look, I accept as a given that he's a Democrat, like a huge percentage of Hollywood. But, imo, he's the only one of the bunch that is actually funny. I don't see him very often, but I've never seen him spew the hateful bile that Colbert and Kimmel have. Remember when Trump was a guest and Fallon tussled his hair?

The free market killed Colbert and Kimmel. Shouldn't Trump just sit back and let the market do its thing? If Fallon is so offensive to many Americans...like Kimmel, he'll be gone. I could be wrong, but I don't see that happening. Does Trump risk overplaying his hand by going after Fallon? I was a little shocked to see that? Fallon a loser? I don't see that either.

But Seth Myers? Yeah, he can go away also.

Because after having him on the show, in what was a friendly exchange, Fallon was forced to issue an apology for
"Humanizing Donald Trump".

Yeah, I'd have a problem with that language too.

Fallon comes across as a nice guy, but he still serves the masters.

The hair thing.

Fallon caught flack about interviewing Trump and ruffling his hair. He later said that he regretted normalizing him and humanizing him, and he would've handled it differently. If he had known the outcome, then Trump called him a pussy basically and so it went.

Trump is going too far if he goes after Fallon. He will begin to lose support among moderates if he continues.

That's my point.

Look, I get the whole thing about the aftermath of the hair tussle. But Colbert and Kimmel are gone because of market forces, and good riddance. Fallon, on the other hand, is hugely popular. Just let the market do its thing.

Fallon apologized for normalizing and humanizing Trump.

It's disgusting.

He and Trump had a good time on the show segment. Then Fallon came under enormous societal pressure, and caved.

Here's a link to an article/interview Fallon did with Hollywood Reporter about it. LINK

Does telling people to "get over it" sound like an apology to you???

"The talk show host has discussed the episode before, explaining in a 2017 interview with Vanity Fair that he was just “trying to have fun” with Trump, but revealed that he was “devastated” to learn that people had a negative reaction. He also told The New York Times: “If I let anyone down, it hurt my feelings that they didn’t like it. I got it.”

But in the podcast, Fallon reveals the backstage fallout to the criticism that he had been too soft on Trump. “It’s tough for morale,” he said. “You go, ‘Alright, we get it. I heard you. You made me feel bad. So now what? Are you happy? I’m depressed. Do you want to push me more? What do you want me to do? You want me to kill myself? What would make you happy? Get over it.’”

He said he works hard and is one of the “good people,” but faced a “gang-mentality” online. “People just jump on the train, and some people don’t even want to hear anything else. They’re like, ‘No, you did that!’ You go, ‘Well, just calm down and just look at the whole thing and actually see my body of work.’”

Same thing. Telling his colleagues to "get over it" isn't an apology.

Trump has 4+ years of HATE inside of him. Comedians, politicians & the corrupt media put Trump & family through a living hell.

I wouldn’t blame Trump for any vindictive actions taken against any of them.

Fallon's viewership numbers are and have been in the tank for a long time. The timing was perfect for his show to be terminated which is exactly what ABC did and it killed two birds with one stone.

For 16 million dollars a year, you would do terrible things, including making a canned statement about the president.

Yeah, Fallon's "friends" and "admirers" did him very wrong. I don't envy him the position he was in nor do I fault Trump for taking umbrage at Fallon's caving to the mob.

Clearly, you don't even have the first idea of what you're talking about.

Late-night shows hammered Bush, but he never went after anyone. Trump should follow Kirk's MO and challenge Fallon to a debate.

I myself do not think Trump is a fascist. He might be walking the thin line of political abuse of power, but it has come to light that Obama cancelled Roseanne Barr. So I guess Democrats can't throw stones.

Are you discussing Fallon or Kimble? I have no issue with Kimble being fired/suspended. He told a blatant lie and knew he was lying. ABC had no other choice.
