The automotive equivalent of unleashed pitbulls in the yard.

One of the main reasons Nissan plans to discontinue the gas-powered Nissan Altima sedan in 2025 is to focus more on the production of electric vehicles. Nissan plans to introduce an electric sedan in 2026, and may also release an electric version of other SUVs like the Frontier in 2029. They have also recently teased a crossover-style coupe, which is expected to be the Nissan LEAF’s successor sometime in the near future. As of right now, rumors suggest that this new model would have 25% more range than the current version with somewhere around 265 miles of range.

A new report from Automotive News claims Nissan will drop the smallest and most affordable car in its lineup, the Versa, as early as next year. What's more, the midsize Altima might get the ax in 2026, leaving the automaker with just one sedan — the compact Sentra — alongside the Z sports car, Leaf EV hatchback, Frontier pickup, and a slew of SUVs. If the plan moves forward, the sedan market might lose two stalwart nameplates, albeit ones that don't really inspire much enthusiasm.

"Night Runner"

What will replace it?

The Audi

The Camry

The Accord

The Jetta

The BMW

Honda accord or Toyota Camry.

Not a lot of other choice unless you think ford focus is gonna have a go at it or some gay suburu.

Just because its discontinued, doesn't make the Altima go away....BUT...if it does, I'm thinking Camry or Accord.

Nah. Hyundai Sonata or Elantra is quickly becoming the new Altima, especially around Atlanta.

So instead of continuing to make altimas that ppl will buy they’re going to make an electric sedan that no one will want. That’s a bold strategy.
