Based on three games this team is very similar
Just don’t want same ending
If we can win on defense so be it not concerned with quarterbacks awards or offense

I really think the can have major success on offense with all the players in place but the chemistry is not there yet

This offense is not as bad as 2011 either. And the defense so far is on par with the 2011 defense statistically. We will be fine. People are overreacting like crazy. It’s much easier for an offense to improve throughout the season than the defense.

You know… if you took the exact same results from the last 3 games and this was any season from 2000-2015, this entire fanbase would be elated. Everyone would be high fiving each other with how impressive this team is.

But…. The game, and everyone’s expectations are all offensive centric now. This fanbase was spoiled with the 2019 and 2023 offenses that winning games like this is totally, and completely unacceptable.

And we lost the NC game for the glaringly obvious reasons that somehow never bit us in the arse all season

The 2011 LSU offense was ranked 17th in the nation in points per game and 2nd in the SEC in total offense.

This team has quite a way to go to achieve that.

Also, you’re retarded. May God help you.

2011 was dropping 40 points a game on everyone and could run the ball better than anyone else in the country besides alabama

Wrong we could at least run the ball

Still think we have a better shot than not at making the playoffs.

WTAF is this? This board may be the dumbest place on the internet.

2011 was top 25 in offensive production with Lee at the helm, up until the title game.

Right now we are 94 in total offense, 116 in rushing offense, 111 in redzone offense, 106 in yards per completion, and +100 in PPG.

Why?

You seriously don’t think the offense will improve at all this season?

I think it was clearly obvious to everyone who closely followed this team during Fall camp that the defense was light years ahead if the offense.

We replaced our entire O line. Replaced a 3 year starter at TE. Replaced starting WR’s from last year. It takes longer for offense to jell together. It was clear as day that this offense would take some time to start to gel.

Everyone got all excited and wrapped up on having so much talent on offense that they forgot how many pieces are being replaced and have to learn to play together. Offense requires precision and uniformity. Everyone on the same page.

Let’s pump the brakes on saying that this team won’t make the playoffs. I believe they do. This offense will improve by the end of October. Let’s just let the season play out. We are 3-0 and ranked #3. We are in great shape to make the playoffs.

Outside of the Bama games, the 2011 team averaged 40.92 points per game, and had a formidable OL that could open up the run game at will on any team not named Bama. Defenses routinely quit against us because the OL and Ware, Blue, Ford, Hilliard would bully them into submission.

This team is averaging 20.00 points per game. 1/3 of that sample size is against LA Tech. We haven't gotten to any Bama caliber teams on our schedule yet. They can't reliably convert short yardage or impose their will on the OL.

So yeah 2011 wasn't some high flying air raid offense but they had an identity, knew what they were good at, and executed the gameplan and were extremely successful running it. I do think we have the Joes on this offense to be successful, I'm not giving up on the team by any means. But they have not shown it thus far and it's borderline disrespectful to the 2011 team to say that offense was just like this one has been through 3 games. They were not.

There were two teams so far and above anyone else that they could only beat each other. They could have played a hundred times and probably gone 50-50.

There’s no one anywhere near as dominant as either of those defenses - probably can’t be in this mercenary era. Those two defenses were fine-tuned machines, each player developed in one place, most of them for 3-5 years.

Except the Honey Badger, because I’m convinced he was created in a lab, but to make it less obvious they took 4in off his height and put him in the hood.

As a retard I am sure you are correct
I have no doubt we will make the playoffs but beyond that is in the offensive hands

People forget that outside of the 2 games vs Bama, that offense was quietly very good.

Was it anything like 2019, of course not.

But if that team needed a tough 2 yards, they got 4.

We have no choice to take this team as far as it can go because we don’t have a quarterback for next year not good

The 2011 offense was 26th in the country in Offensive tds per game ..... not 104th.
2011 4th in red zone scoring %
2025 95th in red zone scoring %

Our offense in 2011 was good against everyone not named bama and uga in the seccg. 2011 offense imposed their will on every team except bama.
