ETA. I have changed my mind. I don’t think he was wearing a vest after seeing all the pictures.

Credit to Wolfmanjack for linking this in another thread.

IMO this video settles the debate.

fast forward to the 4:30 mark if you don't want to watch it all.

eta: the title was poorly worded

I still don't believe it.

You can see Charlie's chest with each pec outlined clearly. The under-shirt profile does not look like like the plate. It looks like a guy's chest.

Also, if the bullet hit the top of the plate at a downward trajectory, why would it have pushed the plate up? It seems as though it would have pushed it down.

Finally, if we're saying that the shirt coming up is the plate on Kirk's left side, why didn't it come up on the other side?

It would have had to have turned counterclockwise (looking at Kirk) for that to have happened, so you would have seen the bottom edge poking against his shirt out to the right side.

And finally, (again) a counterclockwise turning of the plate would suggest that a bullet hit the OTHER side with a downward trajectory.

Also, I still don't understand how a bullet with a downward trajectory could ricochet up at that kind of an angle.

he explains it in the video.

Damn, so John Solomon was right. I figured he was because he was the first one to report his death plus he has close contacts since he works with Real American Voice. Lots of "experts" about to eat crow

Thanks for the Video. Not sure most of these posters will watch it. Instead they will downvote your post and still deny reality. Very strange bunch some of these folks

Even if it’s true

The outline that he claims is that of body armor is actually the microphone wire underneath his shirt. I believe he's wearing a mic and holding a mic.

That was the best explanation for the vest theory that I have heard. Not that is matters but it was a good explanation.

The entrance wound geometry with no exit wound give a lot of credence to this explanation.

After watching the video it’s pretty clear he was wearing a vest very similar if not identical to the one displayed in the video. In the video you clearly see a hole in the tee shirt directly above the “O” in FREEDOM. Bullet “entered” there and ricocheted or frag’d upwards striking his neck.

RIP CK. An American hero

He was wearing a different shirt earlier in the day on the way to the event. My guess is he switched in the vehicle—body armor and a t-shirt would be a lot more comfortable.

Either way, the outcome is the same: the body armor stopped the bullet, or if he wasn’t wearing it, he took a .30-06 to the chest.

Both possibilities are brutal.

I’m not sure why this has become a hotly debated issue.

His team said he was wearing a vest. Why would they lie?
