New Mexico becomes first state to make child care universally free

Another step toward the nanny state raising, and indoctrinating, your children. And, when the prices at the gas pump go up, blame the additional taxes imposed on oil and gas companies.
Very dangerous precedent!
LINK
In 2022, voters in the state overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment to allocate a portion of the state’s Land Grant Permanent Fund, which is largely funded by taxes on oil and gas, toward funding early childhood and public school education. The amendment paved the way for the state to begin offering free child care to most families. New Mexicans earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level, or annual household incomes of about $124,000, had qualified for free child care under the program.
In New Mexico’s most recent budget, the Early Childhood Education and Care Department received a $113 million increase in funds, bringing its total operating budget to nearly $1 billion. Half of that fund will go toward child care payment support.

Great. More women in the workforce. We’re going in the wrong direction

Upside is maybe this will keep people from killing an innocent unborn baby.

Higher taxes and childcare worker shortages.
Maybe people will make more babies, but maybe it will be people that don’t need to make more babies.

New Mexico is like all Indians so this is probably just like an extra 6 pack to go with the case of beer the government sends to the mom every week

How did they make it cost zero for these places to operate? Free? electricity? Workers take no paychecks?
Zero operating costs? must be that liberal utopia we've heard so much about.
Only stupid people would believe anything to do with services in this world is free.

Nope.
It won't even move the needle.
I realize that the loud narrative is that the babykilling is about finances, but it's not.

It's a trap. Illegals will try and register children, and get caught. Or is that to simple

Something tells me these won’t be the best child care individuals.

Do you or your wife make so much money that it's worthwhile?!?! Plus the other expenses associated with going to work (clothing, gas, food, more car maintenance, etc.)? And having someone else raise your children? And missing out on non-repeatable moments with your kids?

You’re probably right. I guess upside there is we can remove that argument from their talking points .

We both have careers and student loans to pay off.
The cost of childcare and student loans are reason #1 we cant have more children.

Wow...And you just know that the New Mexican Govt will hire the best and brightest child-care professionals. Those jobs won't be filled by diversity hires at all. We can look forward to all the twitter videos of child abuse caught on camera.

Is it about inconvenience? If so, that is sickening.

Yeas, those are increasingly harder to find as it is.
I'll opt for the Non-free child care option.

The majority of abortions are in fact abortions of "convenience"

That's true, but it's a heck of a price to pay for just that.
Because they have plenty of other talking points that the constantly pivot to anyway.

It is called the money tree. With a little love and attention as well as much higher taxes, the tree grows to pay for whatever you want.
Until it gets too big, falls over and crushes the citizens.
