If not, why are you an insecure and unethical person?
*Texting only, not emails

No.
It’s really none of the sender’s business whether I’ve read their text or not.

I’ve yet to meet a normal person that uses read receipts. Weirdest thing ever

When someone you’re texting does have theirs ‘on’, is it not very nice to know whether or not a message has been viewed?

That’s funny, in my experience the best people I know have read receipts on. The girls with character and ethics, men who are ex special forces, these are the people in my phone with read receipts on.

What so Big Brother can spy on me, Karen? Hell, one of our customers who does Read Receipts isn’t even my own customer, but in the mass sales portal I’m asked several times a week if I want her to know that I’ve looked at the email despite her being in Boston and my territory being in the West. frick off, fascist a-hole.

The average person who puts “Read Receipts” on:

Maybe you don't want work to know that you've seen a text.

I don't find it strange to have it on or off. I do find it strange to ask total strangers if theirs is on or off.
I joke I joke.

I’m not sure what emails has to do with allowing those (particularly loved ones and close friends) in your phone the privilege of knowing if their messages have been read.

Yes. It’s polite. If I’m not responding but I’ve read your text it means the conversation is over.

Because I don’t want literally anyone knowing what I’m doing or thinking at all times. It’s fascism and you’re nothing more than a nosy neighbor.

That women doesn’t know how to turn Netflix on, you think that’s the average read receiptor?
Posted on 9/9/25 at 8:14 pm to Rico Manning
This is your worst take ever and I’m pretty sure you’re a holocaust denier, so that’s saying something

Not really. I find it strange. It’s a step too far honestly.
I don’t need to know both ends of the communication. I send a text, email, letter, leave a voicemail, etc., and it’s now in that person’s court. If it is imperative that I get an answer immediately to whatever I’m communicating, I wait til we have a chance to talk face to face.

I’ll repeat, what does email privacy have to do with text read receipts on your cell phone?
