What makes this worse then is because they have cooked the books so long, we may have been in a technical recession the last 6 months of the Biden administration and yet it was purposely hid to help the Dems election chances.
The level of manipulation of data and narratives the last 18 months of the Biden era outstrips anything we have seen in modern politics this millennia.

Obama turned the Democratic Party into a PR agency. Not only have they gotten much worse at it since Obama left, the core demographic that generally responds positively to this type of governance (70+ boomers) are dying out. They are going to have a hell of a time in the foreseeable future if they continue to govern this way.
It would take the nomination of someone like Fetterman/Machin/Tim Ryan to even begin to undo it, but unlike the GOP in 2016, I don't think there's enough left out there to change course in such a way
