Why does Kelly always set up a vanilla offensive game plan for these week OOC games?

The offensive 2nd half vs Clemson was completely different all game vs La Tech.

You aren’t hiding shite that you plan to pull out in tougher games, you just don’t get the reps on those plays which could be the difference it in being successful in the future.

This is their time to fix areas that he knows needs fixing…. Like the running game. Get those kinks worked out on a lesser opponent. Passing game is where it needs to be so let’s get some reps in running the ball. That’s why!

Didn’t have his center, WRs dropped passes, Nuss wasn’t great.

We had long fields every drive. We were draining playclock versus a team fired up to play in Tiger Stadium.

Calls for a boring 23-7 game.

Because he doesn’t want to put new stuff on video.

Maybe they didn’t think they needed to show their hand?

Handoffs to Zavion Thomas and end arounds to Brown are vanilla offensive plays?

Sloan tried to win this game, and there was nothing held back.

Exactly.

LSU should be able to run an offense as bland as Wonder Bread and still impose their will on a LA Tech. The differential in quality of athletes should make a vanilla offense a non-factor.

Don’t show anything for future opponents to prep for. Get the win, minimize injuries, and get out.

We held back a ton. Does it execute better is certainly to be questioned, but there’s no doubt the playbook was vanilla given the opponent.

Aaron Anderson touching the ball 3-4 times tells me we were trying to keep it simple

It’s not even hard to defend. You don’t show your full hand against these teams. You focus on the areas of weakness in basics with the hope for strength to be shown. It wasn’t. That’s not good. We won’t win on just bully tactics was shown. Not much else.
