Going to sprig or plug it. Gave up on the St. Aug. The Celcius really dinged it hard and I no longer want to fight the fungus and also prefer cutting shorter, which STA hates.

The Grass and Rock Shoppe.

ETA: Don’t know if they have plugs but you can buy individual sod squares.

Put out a pallet of sod then use a pro plugger to spread it. Spray the St Aug out with quinclorac next year.

I looked on Grass and Rock Shoppe website and see that they only sell st. aug by the piece. Bermuda is by the pallet special order. That’s pretty typical of nurseries.
There’s many places online that sell and ship bermuda plug trays such as:
Todd Valley Farms
Ncgrassplugs.com
OutsidePride.com
Amazon
Trysodpods.com
To name a few. Just google bermuda grass plugs

From the website:
quote:

St. Augustine by the piece. Other varieties are sold by the full pallet only.

Darn...I would have been willing to make the drive.

Well darn. Their home page is a little misleading then.

quote:

We specialize in the sale of farm fresh sod. Warm season turf grasses, including Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede and St. Augustine. Sold per piece, half pallet or full pallet.

That makes it sound like it applies to all varieties.

My bad guys.

The Lawn Forum has a lof of great write ups on how to make your own sprigs from a pallet of sod and a dethatcher. Coverage more than 5 to 1 vs just laying sod. Be prepared with timers for watering if you sprig.

I love my st Augustine but if there's one thing I hate is the fungus it gets. The amount of insecticide and fungicide in my shed is crazy

Thanks

One other source for bermuda plugs thru the internet is Sod Solutions. They probably have the most selections available.
