BATON ROUGE —- Police officers are currently responding to a tragic scene involving a toddler shot and killed. It was around 7:30 a.m. on Friday when officials responded to the 4400 block of Sumrall Dr., just off Plank Rd., for a shooting. Early reports indicate a three-year-old child was shot accidentally and died from their injuries, UWK has learned. Baton Rouge Police are currently piecing together exactly what happened and what led up to the toddler shot, including whether it was an accidental shooting or not. Those details remain under investigation.

How wonderful. I'm not sure I can think of a single reason to intentionally shoot a toddler.

The way I read it is that she meant whether the actual shooting of the gun was accidental or not. Someone could’ve been shooting at someone and hit the toddler. Or someone, even the toddler, could have handled the gun and it accidentally went off.

Makes sense, and I hope you're right. It's a travesty either way, but at least your theory doesn't involve someone intentionally shooting a three year old.

When I was a kid in the 60s, this area of town was nice by the standards of the time, safe and nothing remotely like this ever happened.
So why is it like that now? What changed?

Unless a white person did this, this life won't matter.

I was hoping it wasn’t that too. That fricking sucks.
